The Brightness of a Moment … by Billy Keenan

Sometimes the sun shines so bright

without clouds or humid air

a simple pause in a driveway

I am here.

The temp is probably cool

but sunshine is my cocoon

for these three minutes I embrace

a silent moment at noon.

I’m not sure what it does

when vitamin D will absorb

my shirtless skin bakes briefly

with rays from Sun star Orb.

The pure air is breathless

I don’t need to inhale

I’m in a peaceful moment

this reflection is my grail.

No need to wander further

right here is just right

I’ll keep a tiny memory

when winter barks its bite.
